<p>Emerson is my dream school. I come right from Mass and it's in my most favorite city ever. I want to major in film. I will be applying for Fall 2012 I know it's competitive.... </p>

My vid prod teacher wrote a GREAT one! I am not going to put the whole thing on here lol but here are some things he said: </p>

<p>...She immediately demonstrated that she had an understanding of the subject by producing quality projects well before her peers.</p>

<p>...To make her commercial unique and standout from the rest in the class she removed all the sound that was recorded on the camera and replaced the sound with her own effects and music. This is a technique that is not taught until my advanced video production class.</p>

<p>I got into Emerson last year and I think it had a lot to do with my art awards and my ACT score of 34 (with a perfect in English), so I think that if you get good test scores and write really nice essays, you have a good chance. The only thing is your GPA which is lower than mine and I thought I had a low one. As long as you can counteract that with something impressive, you have a good shot. Good luck!</p>

<p>Yes I know, my gpa is not the best… Hopefully my SAT scores will be good… If a student doesn’t have a great Gpa, do they still look at the portfolio? Because if I have a really great one, will that counteract my gpa?</p>
