The deal with my GPA is that I got screwed by my school's system. I'm not used to the way the school does the grading/teaching. I know I'll be more successful at college because I've taken classes over the summer at Princeton and Recieved As in all 5 of them, but I usually end up with Bs in high school and one or two Cs. However, I have recieved As in all AP classes I have taken so far. I also got an 800 in the Chem subject which i got a C in.

I may do SCEA

The simple truth is that an unhooked candidate with a 3.45 UW has very poor chances unless you can compensate in a significant way. Fortunately, everything else looks great!

Given your GPA, I can’t call Yale anything less than a high reach. (Which means it’s possible but rather unlikely.)

Wow this is one of the most interesting profiles I have ever seen.

On one hand your GPA and SAT scores fall far below the averages even of the rejected list, but on the other hand the other stuff looks pretty good. Honestly, the question I think is whether the admissions people would even look at the rest of the stuff (which is quite good) after seeing the GPA and SAT scores.

I agree with silverturtle probably a high reach

hold up, hold up. You have a 3.45 GPA (not great) but you’re still top 7% in your class. It seems that your high school may be very competitive. And even with a pretty low GPA, you have amazing SAT IIs. You got a C in a Chem class but an 800 on the SAT, this may indicate that your school may set the bar pretty high.

I would just work on getting a higher SAT I. Your in the range for Ivy League schools but because of your low GPA, I’d just raise the SAT a little, maybe over a 2200, but that is if you feel you can do better.

Your volunteer events show tremendous initiative. I would definitely highlight those in your application. And you aren’t focused on one thing, You’re into theater, culture, web design and research. You are an all around strong application despite what would appear to be a low GPA. If you apply to any schools in the regular round, I would definitely work on achieving a higher GPA in your first semester just to show an upward trend.

Its hard to say if you’d get in SCEA Yale. If you have tremendously well written essays and show some passion through those essays, I have a feeling you’d be deferred just so the admissions team can see if you can improve your GPA. But I think because of your SAT II scores and the concert you helped organize (btw, wow! congrats! that’s amazing) you’d be later accepted, imo. Better make some damn good essays…

heh the issue is that my school doesn’t do semester grades or marking period grades. we just get the one grade at the end of the year so I have no time to raise my GPA. Also the classes I took at Princeton does not get factored into either my UW or Weighted according to my school

You said you took classes at Princeton over the summer but the funny thing is Princeton doesn’t actually run a summer school. I’d know because I’m a Princeton student…

This poster’s voice sounded very familiar to me, so I looked at several of his posts. He is a ■■■■■. In some posts he’s Jewish, others Asian, and others Hispanic. He contemplates applying as a URM. Sometimes he intimates that he doesn’t know who his father is, other times he’s a legacy at Yale through his father and grandfather.

How many screen names and personae are you going to create?

why would someone go through all that trouble just to be a ■■■■■? it’s not even anything radical or crazy, just standard stuff…

^^^First of all, multiple memberships are an infraction of CCs Terms of Service. Second, this community only functions if people are honest and straightforward, inconsistencies in posting history can cause members to lose trust in individuals, and eventually (if not regulated) the rest of the community.

Wow… Seven APs plus Multi-Variable… That’s insane. I’m having a hard time with four right now…

You need to get your SAT score up. I don’t know what to tell you about your GPA… Maybe they’ll overlook it.

But if you’re actually a lying ■■■■■, what’s the fun in this? If you want to ■■■■■, go on the UC Merced board where all those kids think that they’re smart, and say:

GPA: .2
SAT Score: 890
Rank: 64… out of 64
ECs: I can open a bottle of ketchup with my bare hands. I was once kicked out of an all-you-can-eat buffet. I can recite the alphabet backwards. I am a general in my online StarCraft clan. My RuneScape fishing level is 97. LOL.

A 36 ACT?!?!?!?

DONT send your SAT I’s. Just send your ACT! send your SAT2’s though to show how your school is compared to how you actually do (i.e. your chem SAT2.)

You have a chance. This is a very interesting profile and your test scores are crazy. (excluding SAT1) again don’t send it.

oh wow just read the others posts. if you are fake, you suck.
