I want to major in Biology.

Is my URM status (hispanic) very beneficial?

If you were instate, you’d have a better chance. You have good extracurriculars and you took challenging classes, but your your SAT/ACT scores are a bit low for OOS. Also, your GPA isn’t too high. Try to raise your scores. But, also make sure your essay is really really good. You still have a chance but, its not extremely high.

honestly, I don’t think that SAT scores & gpa are everything. If you’re a well rounded person and have tons of ECs, and good leadership abilities, essays, etc. UNC really does look at everything. I’m very well rounded, and right around your scores for SAT. I got a 1340/2080 E:11. I didn’t send in my ACT, but my twin sister got a 30 and like 20 points different than my SAT and got in with me early action as well. so i would send in both if i were you. granted, my gpa is a little higher I have a 3.7/4.3, but still, don’t think test scores & grades are everything.

Look at the acceptances for OOS students posted on CC. A 2070 is not a guarantee especially with a 3.4. You did not mention class rank which is also part of UNC’s formula.

Your URM status will provide you with a bump but if I recall correctly I saw one or more with URM status that were either deferred or denied on the “OOS Acceptances” thread.

Your LORs and essays will be VERY important to your application.

Admission to UNC is hard to predict. Take the most rigorous course load your school offers, spend a good amount of time crafting well thought out essays that will help to differentiate you and let others see who the person is behind the numbers. This is your ONLY chance to speak to the admissions committee…don’t be formulaic or feed them the usual pabulum…make them want to meet you…make your essays stand out…remember, they will be reading 50,000 plus essays…

Lastly, stop worrying about your chances; no one here can accurately predict what the outcome will be. Focus instead on what YOU can do to submit the best application that you can. Enjoy your summer because the fall semester can get crazy, demanding and stressful.
