Chance me... X.x

I just read about this website in the newspaper at the dinner table… so I got pretty curious. this sounds like a fun topic. ^^

What are my chances of getting into:
UCI Civil Engineering
UCSB Biological Science

SAT: 2 takes, best: 2050 (Math 720, Grammar 700, Writing 630
SAT II’s (1 take each): US History-680, Math II-680
AP’s: English: 3/5, European 3/5, US History 4/5, Psychology 4/5
IB’s: Psycholody SL 4/7, Math Studies SL 6/7
GPA = 3.83 (UC weighted)
Rank = aprox 83/420

Not sports or clubs.
I’m in IB so I have over 70 hours of community service. But I only mentioned 54. X.x Too lazy

Have a part time job for Apr 2007 - Apr 2009
Position: Technician. Aprox 8 hours a week.
Responsibilities: Installing burglar alarms, motion detectors, and surveillance camera software. so on.

NOTE:!!! For UCI, I applied for their engineering school. I only have 3 years of math when people who got accepted to UCI aprox 96% have taken 4 years math. UCI’s Engineering school REQUIRES 4 years of math. I ****ed up… Should of taken Calc instead of physics, didn’t read the fine print.

No sports and clubs?
No leadership?

That may hurt you a bit, other than that I think you have a good shot. The Engineering program, as many other schools, is competitive
How were your essays? what did u talk about?

Thank You for responding. ^^

Yes, I'm the founding member (of 10) of a community service club that hosted a whole bunch of events. Didn't mention i was in charge of publicity which was making and distributing fliers and talking to people at middle schools to post up posters and stuff.

Also I tried to join tennis twice but I was rejected (didn't mention that). Too many Asians, so tennis team was pretty competitive (1/2 got in).

On essays, I talked about getting over barriers and challenging myself
Being at an airport and missing a boarding pass and dealing with authorities who won't let me on the airplane. After getting rejected talking to other authorities until i got the boarding pass and then having the plane leave the terminal (taxi-ing) because we were 30 mins late and plane coming back for us. I did explain that the boarding pass issue was the airport's miss not ours.
Second one was my parents teaching me to challenge myself.

^ Nice topics!
Well, if you mentioned that leadership of community service I say you have a well-rounded shot.

However, the ECs part is a bit on the LD.
Hmmmm, No ECs?
not even uno (1)?

I just got accepted into UCSB. Still waiting for UCI.

I dont understand why you applied to UCI with civil engineering when you haven't taken 4 years of math. You should have applied as a social science major or something.

To see if I can get in. I don't believe in "impossible." On the other hand, I don't plan to go to UCI. So it doesn't really matter whether I get accepted or not.

I've already chosen to go the Cal Poly Pomona for a variety of reasons.
