Student 1: OOS (PA), male, 1210 SAT, college prep hs (which Clemson recruits at) does not rank, 2.56 GPA (unweighted) increased dramatically junior and senior year after ADHD diagnosis and treatment, sports managment or undeclared major, visited twice - lots of contact w/ school, applied 8/1 (aside: unique ADHD situation discussed with multiple admissions counselors, testing/diagnosis provided - we were told Clemson wants to see improvement from year to year and “don’t worry about” his GPA).
Student 2: OOS (PA), male, 1250 SAT, college prep hs (which Clemson recruits at) does not rank, 3.15 GPA (unweighted) with improvement every year, psychology or sociology major, visited twice - lots of contact w/ school, applied 8/1.
Student 3: OOS (PA), female, 1360 SAT, college prep hs does not rank, 3.74 GPA (unweighted) with 3.96 (unweighted) junior year, nursing or bio major, visited twice - lots of contact w/ school, applied 8/1.
They are triplets and everyone who we’ve spoken with at Clemson has told us that multiples are looked at as a group by Clemson Admissions - meaning it is VERY likely that all three will be accepted or all three will be denied.
As an aside, can anyone speak to the chances of an OOS student (Student 1) being offered Bridge???
Thanks for your thoughts!!! GO TIGERS!!! I’ll be sure to post results when letters come out!
Student 1…Application tossed in the recycle bin
Student 2…Probably not going to happen, but will at least be considered
Student 3…Very likely to get in
I would be a little skeptical. Admissions as a group of siblings doesn’t make sense at all. I would just assume all of them are going to be accepted based on their grades and scores. Also, being an out of state applicant to a public college makes it harder. The preference is always for in-state applicants.
If they’re set on going to school together, and they want to go out of state, UTEP is an open admissions university. Wyoming is also near open admissions, and will likely accept all three siblings.
Student 3 is the only one with stats competitive for admission based on data provided to us at numerous Clemson visits, especially for OOS students. She may be accepted , but possibly not to nursing as it is very competitive.
@coolguy40 and @carolinamom2boys - since you were both kind enough to respond to my post I wanted to let you know that ALL THREE of the triplets are going to Clemson in the Fall!!! Two via Bridge and one regular admission to Nursing! Could not be happier!!!
