I’m not an accepted student but I can say that your scores arent phenomenal. but your EC’s are extremely strong in my opinion. i dont know anyone who holds two sport captaincies AND is on student council AND is the editor of the newspaper. usually those are reserved for three entirely different groups of people

anyway are you indian? how big is your class and what’s your rank?
and this is just for fun- but I guess you are female. am I right? xD

Good scores. Good ECs. You have as much chance as the other 5000 applicants for Yale SCEA.

My class is really small like less than 60 that is why I can be involved in so many things. I am Indian and girl ( how’d you guess?) Are you applying EA Yale too?

Ah I see. sorry to sound so critical, but that seems to significantly reduce the impressiveness of your ECs. in a small class, it’s easy to dominate clubs and sports because competition breeds excellence. in a big class, more people compete for each position.
Anyway, I guessed girl based on your interests (geared toward humanities, plus tennis is just girly in my opinion lol) sexist to do, but I thought it’d be interesting if I was right
and yes I am applying SCEA to yale  good luck to you!
here are my stats if you’re curious
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/767918-chance-me-please.html

i think that some other indians applying yale scea already pwned you =[

^haha thats awful!

OP- what state are you from? if this is some small town school that could help you. like, say, montana lmao

^ I’m from a private school in Virginia, so not really small town. Having trouble with my essays, can anyway help?

Hmm ok well I guess I am gonna be a tad bit more critical than some previous posters,

First, ya you have a shot SCEA at Yale. Now, I am not an admitted student (I am applying this year too), but from my cursory glances at the results threads, there is always some intangible feeling that I get from each accepted student’s app. Yours is definately competitive for the lower ivies, but I just dont get I dont get a strong positive feeling about your resume and think Yale is going to be a fairly big reach for your (as it is for most people).

Get your SAT up to a 2300+ if its possible. Since your Indian, your race isnt doing you any favors at yale and there are tons of Indians applying with stats higher than yours.

With all that said, I wish you nothing but the best and hope that you get into Yale.

Robbie

OPPS! SAT I 2240, my adding reinforces why I got a 790 and not a 800 in math.

Bumppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

BUMP

10Char

i would agree that you are in a good position
But so are hundreds of other people who will probably be deferred

I thought I would point out that your SAT subscores don’t match your total of 2230. Either way, I agree with the others on you having similar chances to everyone else.
