Hmmn, for whatever its worth, my daughter is currently a freshman and had the following: SAT, 2110, her high score was 770 in math and I think 710 in reading. Ranked #2 in her prep school out of 450 seniors, 4.4 weighted, AP english/comp, calculus, physics, biology all As. nationally ranked math team captain, URM (native), ranked in her state as a cross country runner, voted student athlete of the year twice, very delineated ties and service to her ancestral lands and community (its a native thing) and strong interest in pursuing a major in the STEM fields. She was also accepted at Pomona, Washington U, Vandy, Dartmouth, Brown, USC, and Georgetown. In total, I think, she applied at 12-13 schools, and accepted at 10.

Reach, but definitely has some chance.

Yale’s a reach (you don’t have spectacularly unique extracurriculars and your scores are okay for Yale --I think that non-URM, no-hook HYPSM applicants should shoot for at least a 750 on each section of the SAT and on all of the subject tests), but your chances will definitely be boosted a lot just by being a double-legacy.

Highly recommend that you retake the SAT- Writing is very easy to improve, just buy a grammar book. If you get a 800 Writing, even if you bomb the other section, you’ll have a 2380 superscore.

I would count double legacy as a hook. Regardless, I think that you stand a solid chance. Your sat is a bit on the low side, but your schedule and EC’s are very competitive. Best of luck.
