UC GPA: 3.95 ( could be a 3.92 depending on this semester)

SAT IIs: 800, 760

ECs - a TON
Leadership - a few
a few awards as well.

from san diego.

will i get in?

I don’t see why not. I don’t want to say you’ll get in for sure though because qualifications vary year by year. But I will say that you definitely have a good chance of getting in.

I see you getting in

everything there is better than me (except the SAT, which is just marginal), and I got in. As long as your essays are grammatically OK you should be able to get in.

I think are a good enough candidate for SB. i heard the easiest way to get in was to apply as an engineering major. It seems like u r going to be on the border for SD

Very likely you’ll get in.
I had a 3.2 UC GPA
1970 SAT
Two 710 Subject Tests.
Hospital Volunteering as an EC(Thats it) and I got in.

@netsrock, I don’t see that being true. SB is pretty reputable for engineering. Also, your major at SB does not have any impact on your admissions. Terrible advice.

Major in whatever you want.
You will definitely get in with a 3.95 gpa.

@Cookie: WOW! That’s pretty fortunate. Congratulations!

my dad knows the dean of engineering at ucsb. he said that at ucsb and most of the other ucs it is easier to get into engineering then other departments

i got in with 1860 sat 3.8gpa 730/700sat2s

in i had a 1920 , 3.86 UC GPA , 780 math II and 770 chem

@netrock
Too bad it’s hard to validate the legitimacy of your statement.
That really isn’t true at all. Engineering is impacted at UCSD, UCLA and super impacted at UCB.

slow down for a second. my dad also happens to know henry samueli, who has the freaking engineering place at ucla named after him. he has said if u r applying to ucla and unsure of what u want to do, apply for engineering. they will give u a point boost.

^ hey peeps, calm down. Netsrock, don’t feel the need to prove yourself. Guys its just a simple question, does he have the stats to get in. Not an argument about who knows more about tiny details.

netsrock is probably right, since I’m pretty sure engineering at UCSB is NOT impacted
