<p>I want to double major in biology and english (w/ creative writing concentration). But I got a 90 and 92 in the classes respectively so should I apply as undecided?</p>

<p>Somewhat competitive public high school in NY
Korean female
GPA: 3.5-3.6</p>

<p>SAT: 2160…720 each section (retaking in november)</p>

<p>SATII: 700 math 1c<br>
780 US hist
720 biology (taking math IIc and bio in october)</p>

<p>APS: 5 Bio<br>
5 Eng lit and comp<br>
5 US hist<br>
4 European hist</p>

<p>EXTRAS: President for school literary magazine and have some poetry published outside school
Writer for school newspaper (but no position)
Varsity golf and Band all four years
Tutor a lot, interned at Congressman’s office, currently working at a lab for intel project</p>

<p>What are my chances at Barnard?
My first choice is Wellesley
Some other colleges are Boston College, Brandeis and Smith</p>

<p>You certainly have a competitive record. You need to make Barnard feel the love in your essays.</p>

<p>I agree with Mardad. I assume since you are in the NY area that you have visited Barnard. Is that true for your other choices? Take time with your apps to let them know specifically what it is about you that will fit their school environment/philosophy. </p>

<p>And don't worry about your major "status" as an applicant.I think that having divergent interests is a good thing; particularly for a school like Barnard which has such strong programs in both english/writing and the sciences. You could even use this as a "selling" point in your application...</p>

<p>you cant rely on your high scores which it looks like youre going to try and do. you should try to really step it up academically senior year. but you're competetive for sure. write nice essays. about strange things. it helps.</p>
