<p>Hi, I am an freshman ug applicant for fall 2011 from india.
I am currently in the process of applying.
My profile:</p>

<p>SAT score: - 2210 [CR - 740; Math - 800; Writing - 670]
TOEFL iBT : 116/120
SAT subject tests : Maths II - 800; Physics - 800; Chemistry - 800</p>

<p>My rank in school is 1 in a class of 154. </p>

<p>Academic Achievements:
•NTSE scholarship from NCERT, Govt. of India
•FIITJEE Talent Reward Examination : Regional 3rd in Physics and overall
•National Science Talent Search Examination : 1st in region
•ICSE school topper with 97% in class 10.
•International Informatics Olympiad by Computer Literacy Federation : Olympiad Rank 37
•School and regional topper in other talent search exams in classes 6,7,8</p>

<p>Activities:
•School Captain and formerly House Vice Captain. Long standing member of school LTS.
•Quizzing – member of school quiz team for 6 years.
•Drama – participant in school productions and inter school competitions
•Debate – represented school successfully in several debates. Represented house in intra school debates.
•Won school science fair in class 11
•Member of school table tennis team in class 9. Winner of inter house championship in doubles.
Also past member of Social Service and Nature groups in school. Former boy scout. Took part in community service projects as part of aforementioned movements.</p>

<p>I think that i will get strong letters of recommendation.
I'm looking to major in Physics or computer science.</p>

<p>My school does not offer AP or IB courses.</p>

<p>I am taking ISC Science courses, the most rigorous available.</p>

<p>My subjects have been:
1. English - 4years
2. Mathematics - 4 years (including trigonometry 4 years and calculus 2 years)
3. Physics - 4 years (with calculus 2 years)
4. Chemistry - 4 years
5. Computer Science - 4 years (Java, boolean algebra, Microprocessor, Data structures, etc.)
6. 2nd Language Bengali - 4 years
7. Social Sciences (History and Geography and civics) - 2 years.
8. Environmental education - 4 years
what are my chances?</p>

But honestly ,as an MIT blogger said “try not to be a mindless robot” … read the post “just chillax” on mitadmissions.org .You’ll get useful directions on your essays ,I’d say .It’s awesome.
