Chance Me

I know OSU is a reach, but I applied, so lets give it a shot.

GPA- 3ish, not entirely sure what it is UW, 3.24W not sure what it is out of. I heard 4.6, but if that was true, my UW GPA would be 2.8, and I never took any honors or APs until my senior year, so idk how it would be weighted.

NROTC and AROTC Scholarship candidate.

Got a call from the student outreach program (basically to encourage me to apply, I feel like a lot of people may have gotten them, especially since I went to some REPS from the school at 2 college fairs)

Extenuating circumstance that realllly affected my grades. Father was in prison, mom worked till late at night, and I had to run the house by myself pretty much, and balance it with school work. To put it simply, keeping my house running and my dog alive came before school. I also think its what led to half a head of grey hairs :).
^^^ Yes, I did mention that in the application (Not the grey hairs though)

So yeah, do you think that I have a shot? My app went from Incomplete to Evaluation yesterday.

Hard to tell on this one, extenuating circumstances may help you in, but we’d need to know to what extent and a lot more backstory.

Good Luck!

Well basically, my dad went when I was in 6xth grade. He and my mom owned the same business that we ran out of a warehouse 20 mins form our house. After my dad eft, my mom had too work twice as hard, and long to support the business. So instead of them coming home around 5:30-6, she came back around 9:30-10ish. I was usually asleep by then. Basically this continued until the middle of my junior year when my dad came back, which is when my grades went up again.

Anyone else?

Mentioning the extenuating circumstances will help, but OSU is getting more competative. You should definitely go for it though!

Thanks. I made sure to mention it. I also used it in the “Why Did You Choose to Work” sections.

Well, I got denied, haha.

Oh well. never expected to get in, so it’s all good. I got into my #2 Purdue, and hopefully get into my #1 PSU
