Chance Me!

I'm in a one of a kind all-advanced comprehensive gifted program.
I speak English and Persian and am working on Spanish.
I've been accepted to the Potomac School and hope to be accepted to a high profile east coast school or Bishop's in La Jolla.
I've made iPhone apps.
I am working on a reference book for the 112th congress to be published in eBook and hardcopy format.
I've met and worked on my congressman's campaign, and have now been invited to meet the new congressman-elect.
I got tickets to the inauguration through letter's I've written.
I have all a's.
I got a 98% on the state standardized test, only missing two problems per section.
I have a very wide range of in-depth knowledge from the CIA to exotic animals.
I got a 95.33% average on the SSAT national percentile. However, the score itself is 68%.
I play tennis, swim and ski, with proficiency, but on free time. (I don't excel greatly in athletics)
I've been considered one of the smartest kids in the program.

you sound like a student any school would want. I don’t really have much experience in this though, so I’m not completely sure.

your description is very impressive, though! :)

my main concern is the low ssat score and lack of athletics

your ssat score is kind of low, especially compared to the average of prep school students. but schools look less at the ssat then they do at grades.

That’s debatable, schools compare your SSAT scores to your grades. Because every school varies in how hard people are graded, if you get a %40 on your SSATs but have a 4.0 GPA then that says something about your schools grading system.

But beside that, you look like you have a good chance, just keep in mind that most top tier schools average a 90 or so SSAT applicants, but it doesn’t mean that they just throw away anything under that score.

I hope it doesn’t kill my chances. The bad thing is the math on the SSAT, although I got a 98% on the state standardized test, however, the SSAT was taken earlier on in the year.

I forgot to mention that I have begun to take flying lessons for a license. (You need 40 flight hours) and can get the license by the time you finish high school. Also, I’ve played violin since first grade. I have a solid understanding, but this hasn’t been my focus.

There’s just so much competition!

you excell very well acdaemicaly but you need more EC, so you should try and get involved in as much as possible, also your SSAT scores are not terrible but they can use work. You have to remember all these schools have competition and if you are the same as other kids they will take note of your EC, where as ssat scores don’t matter as much.
