<p>Okay this is my first post on this site so I'm not sure if this is how it works...</p>

<p>I applied for Michigan under Early Action and I'm wondering what my chances are of getting in.</p>

[<em>] IBs: English HL, History HL, Math HL, Physics SL, Biology SL, Art HL, Chinese SL
[</em>] GPA: 3.34 UW, 4.05 W (low I know :/ HL math killed me)
[li] Rank: top 25% at the 17th best HS in the nation</p>[/li]

[<em>] ECs listed on app: Private girls choir, piano lessons, Chinese Yangqin (an instrument) lessons and orchestra, ambassador for global language/leadership program, full scholarship funded travel abroad to China, volunteered for summer camps 3 years in a row, teacher's assistant, JSA, secretary of math club, 300+ community service hours, organized and planned a benefit concert that raised $700

[<em>] Essays (subject and responses): All essays and supplements basically talked about my interest in global affairs and my experience traveling abroad in China, along with how that influences my dreams for working with Doctors without Borders in the future. And I talked about how Michigan would help that. Everyone who read my essays loved them.

What are the chances that I'll get in? I'm worried because of my GPA, but I know that some people with surprisingly low GPA's get accepted into U of Michigan. Thanks so much! :)</p>

<p>you’re in…not that it matters but, why didn’t you ever get a part time job?</p>

<p>I wouldn’t rate anyone with a B+ GPA as a slam dunk. She will have to wait and see like everyone else.</p>

<p>when you look at her strength of schedule I don’t really think it matters</p>

<p>Yeah that’s what I was thinking, I have a really rigorous schedule but a few grades here and there that could break things.</p>

<p>I didn’t get a part time job because 1) I don’t drive and 2) I live out of district, about a 40 minute drive from school, so taking the bus home takes me about 2 hours. It leaves no time for a part time job after all my extracurriculars. My summers were busy too with traveling abroad, volunteering, family babysitting, etc.</p>
