<p>Hey All! Before I give you my stats, I'd like to wish everyone luck in their transferring journey. Such an exciting experience :)</p>

<p>Applying to:
Rutgers - New Brunswick (SAS)
American U (Kogod)
& honestly if you think any other schools would be a good fit, let me know! </p>

<p>HS:
UW GPA: 3.5
W GPA: 3.7-3.85 (not 100% sure)
Completed HS with a GED and went on to community college at 17.
EC's: Key Club and Music Heals (club that raised money for a troubled girls home through a concert) Freshman year. Student Council Sophomore year - elected Junior class president, but moved afterwards. Upon moving, financial situations required that I work and I wasn't able to be involved in clubs.
SAT: 1720 (but I just took the test again last week and am positive I bumped up my score)</p>

<p>College:
Current college freshman, transferring for Fall of 2011.
GPA: 3.69 (although one of these classes was a "college success" class, and out of my four serious classes I received 2 a's and 2 b's)
Taking 16-17 credits each term.
No college EC'S BUT, I volunteer monthly with American Red Cross and Human Right's Campaign. I also spent the summer as a camp counselor. I would be involved in ec's, but we have few, and of that none fit into my schedule.
Job: 20hrs a week - Nanny. Also just received a position as a business alliance specialist with a local company. </p>

<p>Ethnicity: Hispanic
Special Situations: Was homeless the end of my junior year, which prompted my GED. (Also what my essay is based on)</p>

<p>I’m at Rutgers right now, I’d say forget about getting into Rutgers, you can easily do it! Instead look into getting into the Honors Program they have here. I’m in it and I think you might have the credentials to get into it. check it out.</p>

<p>You stand an excellent chance of getting. I would actually be utterly astonished if you did not. In terms of suggesting other schools:

What can you afford?

pennhopeful - did you transfer into Rutgers? If so, any advice for the essay that asks you to basically say why Rutgers is so great? Haha… thanks!

Where are you looking to to go school? East coast, it would be great if
What can you afford? I’m not trying to let that rule out anything. I’m willing to take out loans, and I should get a good amount from FAFSA (EFC 0)
What is your major? Double major Buisness & Poli Sci
Anything you are looking for in a school? I don’t want a commuter campus!</p>
