chance me?

okay, so im a cc student interested in transferring to a great school.

hs gpa: 3.2
sat :1730 ( i dont plan on sending scores to schools... its optional at most places im applying)
1st semester college: i went to an art school, SVA in nyc. i got a 2.5. I "failed" one class, but it was marked as an X+, meaning it doesnt affect my gpa.

then i realized art school wasnt for me. i missed academics.
transfered to a cc.

i have a 4.0 at my cc with 45 credits.

EC: Communications Internship, PTK, Tutor Volunteer, Work 20-30 hrs a week, Run/play lacrosse

places i am trying to transfer to:

UMD--business school, NYU cas, Fordham Business School, Boston University Business School, Wake Forest Business School, and for fun I might just apply to Cornell AEM if I have time.

I am wondering if I should try for UCLA Berkeley, U Michigan, or maybe even another great school.

What do you guys think? What other schools are good schools for me to apply to?

Thanks!

You should have a good chance. Your high school grades won’t matter very much if you are applying for junior standing.

Apply to all of the schools that you are interested in. Don’t worry about schools being “out of reach” - the only schools that are truly out of reach are the ones you never apply to.

I’m so sorry for stealing your thunder on this! I can’t figure out how to start a new post! I wish you the best of luck! I’m a freshman at UMD in the Journalism School, and I’m also thinking of transferring and applying to Fordham (the Rose Hill campus).
P.S. I’ve heard great things about the UMD business school!

I have a 3.5 high GPA, but unfortunately, I didn’t do so well this year in college. I have a 2.75 at the moment, but I’m planning on bringing that up this coming semester.
ACT: 28
SAT: 1850/2400
1250/1600
In high school, I was captain of the softball and tennis team and also did dance. I won two scholarships my senior year. I was also in Newspaper club. I played travel softball up until senior year, as well. I have great teacher recommendations.
In college, I’m planning on doing Club Softball, and first semester I shadowed a news editor at Fox News in Baltimore.
I just want to know if I have a chance of getting into Fordham as a transfer. I’m not sure how their transfer admissions works.
Thank you very much!

I think you should just really work on your GPA this semester. Get to know your professors and try to get a great recommendation. Fordham is competitive, but I would say its acceptance rate is probably the same as UMDs? Purely speculation though… Look into ECs of course, but focus on your GPA. I think if you can bring it up to at least a 3.0 you have a shot worth trying.

Also, why do you want to transfer? Things you like/dislike about UMD? Just went to visit the campus today actually
