My penchant for worrying has kicked in over the past few weeks, I’d love some other opinions on my chances for UCSB.

GPA: W 3.6 UW 3.3
SAT: 2100 (M 620 CR 710 W 770)
SAT II: Literature 660. Biology 750
ACT: 31

ECs:
A lot…I think almost an average of 20 hours a week I put on my application.

APs:
World History: 5
Bio: 4
Psych: 4
English: 3

Also taking AP English 4, Art History, and Stats this year.

Declared: Sociology, alternate Political-Science

The only bad thing is that I got a D in my second semester junior english last year… I put that I’m making up the class on my application, but I was still eligible for admission in UCs because of my SAT I, SAT II, ACT, and AP scores; I’m not sure if that applies to CSUs. Anyone who can chance me?

Not UCSB, sorry…Cal Poly obviously. See how stresssed I am? Haha

I think you look good for Sociology with your test scores and GPA. I’m not sure about the D, but if you are making up the class that should help. You have good AP classes, so you will get some points for course rigor. I did see someone on the board that got into Sociology. Look back and see what his/her stats were. best of luck to you!

with your high test scores, i think you’ll be okay, especially since soc is not a very popular major here. good luck! :)

Here are my stats:

Transfer student
From local high school
From local community college
GPA: 3.2
Classes taken for points:
-Nature of Modern Mathematics
-GE Area C Literature Course
-All required courses

There is only one class I do not have from my community college and that’s Global Economics and I tried it and I didnt so good because its online.

Also, I have a job and have been working an average of 21+ hours a week and Id say its related to sociology as I deal with people and different types of people. And I attend a Christian club, so I would put that under clubs.
