Chance me?

Uh, so. I feel like getting into Vanderbuilt is a bit of a stretch for me right now, but what the heck, might as well post the info to see other people's opinions (as well as to ask everyone's thoughts of what to concentrate on for now -SAT or general score, etc etc)

All IB school.

International student, Vietnamese.

Weighted GPA: 3.8 (I have no idea about unweighted..)

Chem (6-7), Math (6-7), and Econ (7) High.

Art (6), English (6) and French (6-7) Standard.

(IBs are rated on a 1-7 scale)

School requires 90 hours of extracurricular activities for year 9 and 10. So I have 180 hours stored up and a few more dozens for this year. (The requirements changed from required number of hours to 'must have something and write it down' this year, so yeah).

Activities:

Bethania Orphanage: 9th-11th (raising money to feed and give an education to kids in India)

FIRST Robotics: 11th (self explanatory - building robots for competitions)

Stock market/investment club: 11th (join a virtual stocks market competition - co creator)

Math Club: 9th- 11th (competitions all over GA - frequent member of competitions)

SATs:

Taken twice. Since Vandy superscores (I think), I'll post those then.

Reading: 690

Math: 700

Writing: 610

I'm not sure. I personally feel like my SATs are too much on the lower side to be comfortable about it >.< Should I take more SATs? Or should I concentrate on getting my GPA higher?

Since no one answered…Bamp-u >_>

Considering I don’t know much about IB I’m not gonna actually chance you, but I’d be careful with spelling. Vanderbilt, not Vanderbuilt. It may not seem big, but a lot of times if you do something like “Dartmouth University” instead of “Dartmouth College” it might make the college think you’re not that interested. Just a little warning.

a friend of mine got into Vanderbilt 20 minutes ago…so i am going to compare you with him and conclude.
GPA is the same or near about i guess. He did Edexcel AS levels tho.(all As)
He had wayyyy more ECAs than you, although not much depth.
He also got 200 more than you in SAt 1.
So right now, yes it is a bit of a stretch. imho sat 1 shoul be your focus now.

plz plz chance me http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1104656-what-my-chances-admission-these-universities.html

^^; Ah, my bad…sorry. Vanderbilt. >__>

Also, I checked the conversion, and a 7 is an A+, and a 6 is an A.

And thanks for the tip then - more SAT, I guess.
