any help please? oh and i don’t know if this matters but i had a cousin who graduated from BC about 10 years ago, i don’t know if that would count as a legacy haha

The cousin definitely won’t help you get in, but if you can up that SAT score a bit, you have a really good shot, stats wise. The selection process for BC is hardest for white females, so if you are white, make sure you have a solid first semester for senior year and a unique essay.

Thank you so much! Yeah I didn’t think it would help…I just wanted to be sure:) and yeah I am a whote female so I know it’s pretty competative. BC has been my number one choice for a while and I really want to go. What do you think would be a good SAT? I want my writing to be in the 700s and I’m hoping for a higher math score, maybe a 740-760. My reading won’t change much though, I was surprised I got that high this time

Your sat and gpa are probably adequate, but your ap grades and extracurriculars might hurt your chances

Well I mean it was one bad ap, plus don’t ap grades not factor into admissions? I thought they only mattered when it came time to figure out classes and that sort of thing, I may be wrong though. And those aren’t all my extracurriculars, my resume is pretty long, I just put the most important/general things here. But thanks for your input!:)

Do you have any leadership roles in your ECs? And APs are important in your portfolio because they show that you challenged yourself with a difficult curriculum.

Right, but do they factor in scores on the ap tests when they decide wether to admit you or not? And I’m going to be captain of volleyball this year, will be “head” of my youth group(which does most of the volunteering I do/alternative spring break) there’s no actual title but myself and another girl have been in it for the longest/have the most leadership qualities so well be running most activities.

Oh and my team votes on captains the year before, so I will be captain for the second of my two years

No AP grades probably won’t hurt you, I actually got a 3 myself on APUSH haha. Your SAT is probably good enough, it would just help to raise it is all. Writing is definitely the easiest section to study for so it’s almost a plus that it’s your lowest score at this point. I went from a 600 to an 800 in writing between my first and third times taking the SAT so with some practice I think you could get to at least 2150 which would put you in a great position. I also suggest stressing your volunteer work, BC loves that stuff. The leadership stuff is great also, you’re definitely on the right track.

Yeah usually in my practice SATs I get low to mid 700s on the writing so I was really surprised by that grade, usually it’s a lot better than my reading, so it should go up. But thank you so much, that was a lot of help!!
