Chance me?

I'm a Floridian Hispanic male, upcoming senior, and was wondering what my chances were for the following schools: Yale, MIT, Harvard, GATech, and Princeton.

Planning on majoring in either finances, specifically banking and hedge fund management, and/or engineering (not so specific yet in this field).

GPA: 3.95 UNW, 4.52 W
PSAT: 223 (National Hispanic Scholar and first stage of national merit, probable to move on)
SAT: 2140 (Planning on taking it again after I prepare for it, this was my first time)
Reading: 740
Math: 720
Writing: 680

Sat Subject Scores:
Biology (M):790
Math 2:800
Physics:750

APs: Biology (5), World History (5), Chemistry (4), Calc BC (TBA), Psychology (TBA), English Language and Composition (TBA), United States History (TBA), Physics B (TBA).
For next year, I'm taking Literature, Physics C, Comparitive Govt., US Govt, Statistics, Macroecon., Computer Science B.
I'm taking AP Art History and AP Microecon. online currently.

EC:
President of NHS.
County finalist for Brain Bowl, placed 5th in the state with team.
Science Competition team finalist.

In addition, I have participated in Epsilon Nu Gamma, Mu Alpha Theta, Psi Eta, student government, Latin club.

What are my chances?

okay, so GA Tech doesn’t exactly have the best business school: just so you know. You’d be better of going to UNC UVA UT UMich or UC-Berkeley if you are looking at good publics, but you’ll definitely get into to GA Tech if you want to go, along with all of the other schools I’ve mentioned.

You have absolutely no ECs that are good or outstanding. And right now your SAT is subpar. If you can manage to get a 33+ or 2200+ on the ACT or SAT you will be in much better shape.

Consider applying to somewhere like Duke, Johns Hopkins, or the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Undergraduate Business School Early Decision.

Specifically the last one would be a good choice b/c the % admission in 2011 was 26% according to the New York Times, so you have a good shot, especially being a URM. Good luck!

chance back PLEASE

I’ll assume that your SAT will be around your PSAT score when you retake it and based on that, I think you are absolutely in at GT. I agree the the above post that you should definitely consider some other schools, especially because you’re interested in business. Being a URM, it helps you a lot in getting into any school in the country. I would say you have a decent shot at any school because of your high GPA.
