<p>I feel like I am below the average, although according to UNC's website 50% of NC residents are accepted. With that said, please chance me!</p>

<p>-In state
-Female
-Caucasian</p>

<p>Junior Schedule:
-AP Chem (didn't take exam)
-AP English Lang (4 on exam, scores sent to Chapel Hill)
-Business Computing with UNCG
-The final 4 classes were honors level courses</p>

<p>Senior Schedule:
-AP GoPo
-AP Psych
-AP World Geography
-AP English Lit</p>

<p>Class rank: top 17%
GPA: 4.0-4.1 (unsure of exact, weighted)
SAT: 1920 (1st try), will retake in October (hoping to receive 2000-2100)</p>

<p>Clubs:
-2 year of junior civitans
-2 years of science club
-2 years of book club
-3 years of deca</p>

<p>DECA - very active involvement (one of the founders of the chapter at my high school), 2 years as treasurer, 1 year as president, I have received multiple first place awards at regional and state levels.</p>

<p>So, realistically, how do I sound? Does anyone have any advice on how to make myself stand out or how to work closer towards acceptance at this point? </p>

<p>They really want top 10% class rank students, its a metric that college ranking systems use…rather arbitrary but whatever. You don’t look especially strong – you look good but so do a lot of people that apply. I really think if you study and work on your SAT prep and get closer to a 2100 SAT your chances will be a lot better. Also you might want to consider a possible hook – it could be one thing that you are passionate about (that shows in your background) and they think you will bring to Carolina. You really want to be a psychology researcher so you’ve gone to a professional conference/volunteered at a college research lab or something. See what I mean?</p>
