<p>You have strong numbers and good ECs. For most of these schools, it’ll be a crapshoot. Applicants with your stats consistently get in or are rejected from a lot of these schools. A lot will rely on your essays and what you intend to major in.</p>

USC - likely acceptance/spring admission (SAT could be higher)
UC Berkeley - see UCLA
Pomona - waitlist/rejection
Stanford - rejection (not gonna happen with that SAT)
UCSD - likely acceptance

<p>So, I’m hoping you see the problems with your list – too many Ivies for your SAT score. It’s a really good score, so don’t get yourself down, but those schools are hard enough for anyone to get in to in the first place, and there will be many applicants with your GPA with 2300+ scores. I don’t really see the Ivies (except Cornell) happening for you.</p>

<p>You need to pick more schools along the lines of USC. I actually think USC is a good match for you!</p>

<p>Thank you for the reply. But what about my ACT score? I got a 33 on my ACT, which I thought most schools considered to be a high score. Would this change my chances of getting into any of them? I’m not so worried about the Ivies I listed, so much as I am about UCLA, USC, UCSD, Berkeley, and Pomona. If you could give me your opinions on those schools, considering my ACT score, I’d really appreciate it. :)</p>

<p>Oh, my bad, I didn’t see the ACT. That’s a good score, but still not a sure thing for the Ivies. I think you might get into Brown and definitely Cornell, though. Dartmouth and Columbia are possible as well. HYP are unpredictable.</p>

<p>I think with a 33 you have a decent chance at UCLA/UCSD and good (but unpredictable) chances at Cal. You’re an ideal USC applicant (speaking as an alum).</p>

<p>Pomona is weird. I was waitlisted there despite being in their 75th% of applicants. You probably have a decent chance, though.</p>

<p>Might look at Holy Cross and Tufts in the Boston area both considered stronger than BU.</p>

<p>Hahaha go to USC! (Seriously. With all the UC budget problems UCLA can’t give anyone money and it’s a lot harder to graduate in 4 years. Even my friend who is a PhD student there is having a hard time with funding + classes.)</p>

<p>What if I’m planning on majoring in Biology in preparation for Med School? UCLA’s more renowned for it’s pre-med and medical studies, isn’t it? If I were to get into both USC and UCLA, would my choice of major influence which school I decide to attend?</p>

<p>I’d look into the budget crisis right now if I were you. Bio/sciences are an impacted major at UCLA and it would most likely take you 5 years to graduate because of class availability. I don’t see the problems with the UCs getting any better the way things are financially in California right now.</p>

<p>But if you can pay full price tuition at UCLA for 5 years, then go wherever you like. I’d recommend sitting in on a class there though and talking to bio majors to see what their experience has been like. It’s likely you’d be in a lot of very large lectures; my PhD friend says she’s had to teach a huge amount of UGs as a TA because they’re overpacking the classes.</p>

<p>When you got accepted into USC, did you get any substantial financial aid? That’s one of my main issues with USC - the tuition cost. Did you come out with a huge debt when you graduated? Were you fond of your undergrad studies there? What did you major in/get a degree in?</p>
