Thanks for the feedback, guys and gals.

Are you applying SCEA or RD? Either way, Princeton grad school doesn’t count as legacy. Also, your academic stats are phenomenal, but your extracurriculars are scattered and unfocused, especially since you’re applying to the engineering school. Your school also seems small. Is it well known? Does your college counseling have a rapport with top schools? (That’s a huge factor in admissions that a lot of people overlook)

It seems like you have an excellent chance! Sure, you have strong academics, but I would disagree and suggest that your extracurriculars show that you are well-rounded rather than scattered.

Thank you both. In answer to decillion, I’m applying RD. My extracurriculars are about all my school offers; we’re a small, Catholic, private high school of about 300 kids. It’s probably the best school in my small city, but there’s not much that I can do in the way of targeted EC’s for engineering. I just went for the shotgun approach on them.

your probably gonna get into a couple of HYPSMC. I would be surprised if you didn’t

also if you say “howdy y’all” in your essays you will for sure get rejected.
