Chance me?

I'm an Asian male from NYC looking to major in Computer Science. UMD is my first choice and I'd love to know my chances of getting in. I plan to apply EA. Thank you in advance!

SAT (Superscore) - CR:620 M:620 W:640 (I don't plan on taking any more)

GPA - 96.86 Weighted. Sorry I don't know the unweighted and the GPA out of 4.0, but I'd guess its roughly 3.7-3.8~

Rank - 110/1014 - Top 10% (Definitely better now, but rank updates didn't come out yet)

Courseload - I had all honors classes from 9th to 11th grade and 1 AP (US Hist) during junior year. I'm currently taking 4 AP Classes this year (AP Calc BC, AP US Gov/Pol, AP Eng Lit, AP Psych.)

Here's a list for better visualization (hopefully):

Bio, Algebra, Music History, Art History (9)
Spanish (9, 10, 11)
English (9, 10, 11)
Global History (9, 10)
Geometry, Chem (10)
Latin (10, 11)
Algebra II/Trig, Physics, AP US (11)
AP Calc BC, AP US Gov/Pol, AP Eng Lit, AP Psych (12)

ECs/Awards/etc:

NHS, Chinese Culture Club, Latin Club Treasurer, Volunteer at local library, Volunteered at a local church during their Vocational Bible School, Received a "Cum Laude" certificate for scoring above the national average on the National Latin Exam, Won 1st place in a city wide classical theater contest with fellow Latin Club members

You are a borderline admit. Maryland looks at your cr and math SAT scores the most. Your combine is only 1240 which is a little low. Your GPA is unknown since you only posted you weighted and it means nothing to us because we have no idea how your school weighs GPA. Your class rank is not high either. If you were in the top 5%, I would say you would be fine. I would apply since you really do have a chance.

Agree w/ mom above…if you were instate MD, it wouldn’t be a problem, but OOS generally requires higher #'s. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies! I guess I’ll just hope for the best.
