NONETHELESS, thankyou for taking the time out of your day to read this, and any response/advice will be greatly appreciated. <3

** 1 Last Note: Is it harder to get into these schools as an Engineering Major than for say, a Bio major? Also, I have not taken the 3rd year of Spanish, which I guess is recommended. So.. Should I take that online? Or just let it be. Thanks again!

You’re definitely in at UCI and UCSD, and knocking on the door at UCLA (I’d say, get your SAT score just a tiny tad higher like you are expecting to). I’m not sure how hard it is at UCI or UCSD to get into Engineering, but I do know that you will be accepted for a different major in case you dont. I don’t really know what UCLA’s policy is. You don’t really have to take Spanish online if you don’t want to. You will just have to complete a language in college. There’s a placement test that, if you do well on, lets you skip something like 2 quarters.

oceanpartier: Thank you very much. Not going to lie, you made my night  . Anyone else?

Note: Forgot to list Senior Schedule…
-AVID Tutor
-AP Psychology
-AP Calculus BC
-AP Government
-AP Biology
-AP Literature

Great shots at UCI & SD, UCLA you will have a decent shot as well.

Don’t you have ELC, too?

Yeah I have ELC  But that doesnt necessarily guarantee me admission to UCI/SD/LA right? I thought it guarantees admission to like Merced or Riverside?

By this years standards you’d def be in. I don’t know about next year though, standards are always going up ;o

There are two ELC divisions- in the local context, and in the state-wide context. I believe the local only guarantees UCR, UCSC, UCM, and state-wide guarantees UCI, UCD, SB, although my info is probably outdated.

I think what the others do…excellent chances at UCI.

As for the language, if you can get it out of the way I would do it. My daughter (now a freshman at UCI) only took two years of foreign language (freshman and sophomore year in HS) and has to take one more year at UCI at some point. Her language was French, and it’s going to be tough to remember it with so many years in between her last French course and the next, since she’s not planning to take it her freshman year. If you can get that requirement out of the way without killing yourself with extra work, I would definitely advise it.

I think ELC just don’t get you SD, LA, and B. Either that or just LA and B, but I’m sure UCI is guaranteed, too…
