Hi I am from a public school in New Jersey and am applying early action to UF. Could you please tell me my chances for getting into the school?

Top ten percent of class of 275 students

SATS: 1970. Math-720 Reading- 600 Writing-650

GPA: 4.1... not sure about unweighted yet

AP: US History (got a 4 on the exam), Psych, Biology... all other classes are honors

ECs: Science Research and interned at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for two summers, Class President junior and senior year, varsity volleyball and softball, volleyball captain junior and senior year, first team all-league player, yearbook, hebrew club, key club, science league, Peer Mediation, student council

Volunteer: 260 hours of volunteer work

Wrote a good essay and applied early

Thank you!!!!

If you were in-state I would say the ECs would make a good chance. But, Uf has much higher standards for out of state applicants. I don’t know about you but I like to feel safe and comfortable. To do that i’d say maybe take the SAT one more time and try to increase by another 40-50. But otherwise the the EC look really great.

Honestly your chances are low because your OOS. Your academia is low for OOS and won’t make the cut. Also you don’t have many AP classes or tough schedules.

If you were in state you would have most likely been in, but that’s not the case.

But your SAT and GPA are still great for colleges that don’t prefer in state that much over out of state.

The other two posters are correct. UF only admits about 100 OOS applicants a year. The maximum percentage they are legally allowed to accept is 3%, they generally keep it at about 1%.
