I've talked to a representative who came to my school and I'm going to the open house on November 11th.
My grandmother is also a graduate of Smith (class of 1949).

When I saw your screen name I had a feeling you were from CT…I was right! :D

It’s very tough for any of us to comment on your chances for admission to Smith, but I would say you have a reasonable chance of acceptance, based on your stats and background. I am a little concerned about your rank and GPA. Do you mind saying what school you go to? I live in Waterbury and know the reputations of most of the schools near there.

Also, before applying ED make sure the school in question is definitely your first choice. ED at Smith may be to your advantage as the acceptance rate is slightly higher than RD. What about financial aid? If you require aid you might want to wait for RD.

In any case good luck in your college applications and search. Visiting the campus is a very good idea.

Well so my school had a scale where a 5.0 was straights As in normal classes and a 6.0 would be As in all APs. I got in ED with a 4.85-4.9. I was in that second quintile too but just barely 25ish percentile…so yeah some shot for sure. My advice is show lots of interest…and do an interview if possible. Good luck

The thing that is a little incongruous is the really high level math/science work…but the lower scores…maybe submit the ACTs but not the SATs…just a thought
