<p>Standard disclaimer…No one who will respond is from admissions or has any inside scoop on what goes through their minds on any given day. If the person who reads your app was bullied by a soccer playing pianist when they were a kid, that might cause problems for you. Best we can offer is a somewhat educated guess. Don’t let anyone hear build up hopes or burst your bubbles! My knowledge comes from conversations with a person in admissions, my own experience with my daughter two years ago and some very kind current and former Spiders that post here.</p>

<p>Ok - that’s out of the way. I think your numbers, ECs, scores are all well within the range of “you have an excellent chance”. I’ve told many others here though, UR wants to see more. Your essay is a chance to show them the person behind the numbers. Think of your essay as your first job interview and your chance to make a first impression. </p>
