FAIL^^^^^
The reason why I did really bad in 10th grade is because i was mentally depressed for a while..... I had gone through a mental breakdown and it had lasted throughout the entire 2 years. Ya i rly dont want to state why i was depressed here but I explained y in my college essay. I started to regain and become "normal" at the start of 11th grade.

UCLA <------- My DREAM

UCSD—>55% chance
UCI—>80
UCD—>80
UCSB—>80
UCLA—>30%

Assuming your essay is kickass, and with your SAT scores near perfect, if anything perfect, I do not see why you would get rejected to any of those schools at all. Your GPA is below average but it really doesn’t matter at all considering your SAT scores and your GPA in 11th grade. If you explained why you had a low GPA in 10th grade then you should be perfectly fine. I will say in to everything, and yes including UCLA. I have seen people with much lower stats getting into UCLA. (The reason why is because of class rank, they ranked high relative to their schools. What a lot of prospective freshman don’t realize is that class rank is a giant factor into UC admissions).

I normally never give my opinion on chance threads simply because I find them unnecessary. The only thing they give is a morale boost/reduction more or less. UC admissions are VERY random, it’s almost impossible to tell whether you get into whatever UC or not. I’ve seen random decisions 3 years straight. People getting rejected from UCI,UCD,UCLA but getting into UCSD and UCB. People getting into UCLA and UCSB but rejected everywhere else. People getting into every UC, and people getting into only UCR or UCM. The number of combinations are endless. It is no surprise why in high school you always hear people saying “omg how come he/she got in and I didn’t” or “omg did you hear blahblah got into blahblah I can’t believe that” etc etc. And once you get to college you’d be surprised to hear all sorts of whacky admissions stories from your fellow peers.

Most chance threads I see give GPAs and SAT scores that are within the average, or maybe a little bit above average or below average, but mostly within the average. With those kinds of stats, it’s impossible to tell. I give my opinion only because I know for a fact that with those extremely high scores and your 11th grade GPA and your essay explaining your 10th grade dilemma, I do not see why you would not get accepted to your dream schools.
