i think u have an awesome chance IF u get those SAT’s scores up there.

will I still have a good chance if I apply regular decision? and what percentage of need do they usually meet for financial aid?

No one can give you a good figure on NYU financial aid. To see why this is and how NYU awards financial aid, read my post:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/1117221-parents-students-concerned-financial-aid-please-read.html

Your chances from ED to RD won’t differ much.

If financial aid is an issue, don’t apply to NYU. Likely the stingiest top private school in the country.

are there other sources I can get financial aid from to attend NYU other than from NYU itself? (like fafsa, psat merit scholarships, etc.) idk I’m new to this whole financial aid thing cuz I’m still a sophomore in hs

NYU will asses your FA through the FAFSA and tell you what government aid you qualify for.

NYU no longer gives PSAT merit scholarships.

You could look at external sources for scholarships; i.e. scholarships for gender, race, sexual orientation, home state, city, region, community service, EC activities, writing, art; almost anything you can imagine likely has a scholarship for it. But you would have to look into these yourself and apply for each individually. Of course, you have to win these scholarships - so they aren’t guaranteed.
