The reason why I did really bad in 10th grade is because i was mentally depressed for a while… I had gone through a mental breakdown and it had lasted throughout the entire 2 years. Ya i rly dont want to state why i was depressed here but I explained y in my college essay. I started to regain and become “normal” at the start of 11th grade.</p>

<p>I took so many SAT 2’s because i need to compensate for my failure in 10th grade, and because I could take it.</p>

<p>I changed a lot between 10th and 11th grade. I am sure the my huge upward trend can help me when i apply.
So please give me feedback and ur opinions </p>

<p>I went to a Lowell High in SF, rated between the top 15 and 50 in the nation depending on which year you look at the stats. I must say that your 11th and 12th year grades are very impressive and Im sure that UC Davis will overlook your performance during the 10th grade. College admission officers normally will notice the huge increase in grades and will attribute it to an external factor that caused your grades to decrease. If you mentioned these in your hardship essay, then perhaps they will let it slide. Your APs and SAT are sufficiently high. I give you a good chance to UCI and UCD, UCLA is a maybe and UCSD is still up there. </p>

<p>^I go to the same school as above person. I will say that, yes, our school is one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced in life, so I know what you’re going through. :/</p>

<p>As with your chance at Davis, I’d say you have an almost guaranteed shot. Your extracurriculars are very plentiful and you have the test scores to show that you’re really smart and did not fluke the A’s.</p>
