Chance Me

I am an anxious senior awaiting my acceptance or rejection from UCLA. I know that no one here can tell me if I will be accepted or rejected, but I would like to get an idea of where I stand. I did NOT get a supplement.

Personal Statements- I think they were pretty well written- 1st was about my father and his death when I was 11 and how he (and his death) have molded me into becoming independent/motivated. Also mentioned how in high school I had to basically do everything alone when my mother had breast cancer during freshman/soph years and although I struggled at times, I became fully independent during this period. 2nd was about how I developed from a withdrawn freshman into a leader in the community as I joined CIVITAS and completed 250+ hours of community service, 100+ hours in an internship, and set up a program with Fresh Producers to fund local fresh produce for an elementary school in a low income area by setting up sponsors at my high school/community.

I'm pretty sure I wrote a ton, hope a few people can review it! I am not sure if I left anything on that would be relevant to my application.

I think you must be admitted! If not some other good university will take you because you have awesome grades and SATS!

Thank you! My grades aren’t great for UCLA though as my UC GPA is right at the average and my UW GPA is a bit below the average. My ECs outside of my volunteering/internship/senior project are pretty weak.

Oh yeah, pretty insignificant, but I forgot to mention I took chemistry between 10th-11th (As both semesters).

bump…sigh…

Stop being so hard on yourself. Where else have you been accepted ? You’re extremely smart and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

LOL The sigh wasn’t about being sad about my admissions, it was more about not getting a response (besides yours) haha. No offense, but you seem to be someone applying the same as me and you seem to be telling everyone they will get accepted haha.

I haven’t gotten any decisions yet.

Where else did you apply?
LOL not the sigh … but the fact that you’re worried about your grades/ SAT is strange since they do fall into the perfect category for UCLA but w/e hahahha

Haha, no I am definitely not worried about my SAT, 2270 is well above their average. Don’t tell me I should start worrying! :O

I’m just a bit worried about GPA (mainly UW) because most people seem to have close to 3.9 or above and mine is like 3.77 or something.

I also applied to Cal, UC Davis, UCSD, USC, Claremont McKenna, and Cornell. How about you?

You are going to find out very soon anyway, but you are definitely a match.

Yep, probably in 10 days. Thanks for the input.

You’re definitely going to get in. I would appeal if you didn’t. Mind chancing me? My stats are much less than yours, so I’m a lot more worried than you should be.

Man…I would not be so sure…I’m at best over their averages, but I do not at all think I am definitely going to get in.

Uhh, I can chance you, but I don’t know a ton about how they decide on who to accept (why I posted this thread).

Well…I was rejected… I shouldn’t have done a chance thread, it only made me feel like I was going to get in. Oh well…

UCLA rejected too. So far rejection from UCSD, UCLA. Waitlisted at UC Davis… Waiting for UC Berkeley. I AM SURE I WILL BE 100% REJECTED. IF ACCEPTED, I MUST BE DREAMING!!! LOL
