Dual Enrollment: By the time I graduate high school I will have an Associate in Art Degree and 70 credit hours completed. So far, I haven't made anything less than an "A" in my college courses, and don't plan to.</p>

<p>Clearly, I think my biggest feat is being two years ahead in school. How much will this help me? And how important are the SAT and ACT scores? I think I did OK but I won't know until I have the scores in my hands! Thanks very much for your honest opinions!</p>
<p>Can’t say much without knowing what your standardized test scores are. However, I feel that your ECs are weak and will hardly stand you out from the rest of the crowd applying to Princeton.</p>

<p>SAT and ACT are important, but are not used to determine who gets in. These scores are used to vaguely compare a student with the rest of the applicant pool. Having great scores on these exams do not guarantee acceptance or any other special status and vice versa. However, you start to see consequences to admission chances once your scores start to fall far below the average. For example, having a 2400 rather than a 2250 will hardly make a difference, while having a 1900 can seriously hurt your chances.</p>

Do you have any suggestions as to improving my EC’s to make them pop? To tell the truth, I had kinda hoped that me being a Junior at age 18 would make me pop… :-/. Most of my time goes toward homework and theater. I’ve tried to get an internship at a newspaper (I want to be a Journalist) but live in a rural area, and the only local newspaper denies any interns. I really enjoy community service, reading, and writing.

<p>Oh yeah, and the independent films are nothing really. My friend just has really nice camera equipment and for fun he makes movies. I act in a lot of them, but I think I should just take that off.</p>
<p>Your two years ahead will give you something to focus your essays on, but I don’t know how much that will help you. As for your ECs, I don’t think there’s much you can do. The only way I can think of to spice your list up is to decorate it with some state/national/international titles or recognition. It matters less the quantity of ECs as the level of accomplishment you’ve won.</p>
<p>And if that’s what you meant by independent films, then it will probably have an insignificant impact on your application.</p>
<p>I think you are well prepared for any elite university, and Princeton would be lucky to have you. </p>
<p>The fact that you’re graduating 4 years ahead of your peers is definitely worthy of consideration, and your dedication to theater is great.
