<p>Hi guys. This looks like a great community, and this is my first post :D. I was recommended here by a friend who was chanced here - actually quite accurately too ! Here I am:</p>

<p>Female, white, average family income (probably no need based scholarships)</p>

<p>Academics:
Unweighted: 3.6 (yeah I know I had a bad freshman year)
Weighted: 4.1
AP World - 4
AP Spanish Lang - 4
AP Gov - 5
AP Macro - 5
PSAT: 201 (will I improve in junior year?)</p>

<p>ECs:</p>

<p>Tennis; JV level, played since 11
Model UN Club
Debate Team (regional winners)
President of Spanish Club (we actually do a lot of cultural activities!)</p>

<p>Yeah I know my list if kind of short but that's all I could think of! And what exactly is a "hook"? My friend said it was something interesting about yourself? But I'm just a slightly above average person, I think. I didn't even get all 5s on my AP :(. Please chance me and help me out!</p>

<p>A “hook” is like an advantage you have over other applicants.
Ex: Being a minority, All-American Varsity Athlete, Having legacy who donate money, etc.</p>

<p>What exactly are we chancing you for? You haven’t even listed any colleges…</p>
