UPenn

How would I match up with these schools so far? How should I improve? What schools should I be at?

(Also, UChicago has sent me 15+ emails within a 5 month period. Is this a typical practice for them or are they truly interested?)

bump for interest

ACT score is low for most of those schools. Get it up to at least a 34.

legacy at Penn does not matter unless you apply ED. So if you are not applying ED, then you can forget about it.

What is your class rank? Need to know that before giving you chances.

I’ll be taking the act again to bring that up. I was in the top 3% out of my class of 800-something last semester, but I should be in the top 2% this semester.

Also, would the University of Virginia be a feasible option?

agree w/cortana - legacy only matters if you ED to Penn. and it better be a close relative (not great-uncle once-removed). what school do you plan to apply to?

uchicago sending you tons of emails isn’t an indicator of ‘interest in you,’ rather you probably did well on the psat or asked them to mail you

UChicago - reach
Stanford - reach
Northwestern - low reach
Rochester - match
Columbia - reach
NYU - match
Washington U. in St. Louis - high match/match
UPenn - low reach (ED), reach
UVa - high match/match
