My Transcript average is 89.39 which is like a 3.4 i believe. I got a 1560 sat score. 480 reading 610 math 480 writing. Im hoping to get a 30 on the act. I am taking ap language and composition. I have plenty of honors classes. I plan to take ap stat, ap lit, ap environmental science. I have all my requirements. I have an architecture internship with ace mentorship, i got accepted into the preliminary round of nycsef, i have volunteered at lincoln center for 10 hours, 115 at the library, 100 at my temple, and i plan to do another 100 this summer at a daycare center near me. I will have solid recommendations and essay. I have a part of sophmore council, desi club, and red cross. Do i have a chance at stony brook? Please be honest. If i am lacking somewhere let me know how i can improve.

You’re doing just fine. Maybe get your GPA up three or four points (on the 0-100 scale). But if you’re not legitimately interested in a class, then don’t take it unless you want the AP credit. For instance, if you hate literature and writing then don’t take AP English Language AND AP English Composition, as only one will count towards DEC-A, and neither for DEC-B. And if you don’t plan on pursuing computer science, then don’t take AP Computer Science, since it doesn’t meet any DEC (general-ed) requirements.

LolololOL I got in with a 3.0 uw and a 2010 sat score. You are in

you have a very solid chance of getting in, i got in with about the same scores, the only thing i would recommend for you to do is to take the SAT again just to be safe, get at least a 500 in your reading and writing and you will be fine, my SAT score was a 570 reading 510 in writing and 600 in math 1680 overall, just do that and you will be sure to get in :D

Hey thanks for the suggestions. And yeah my average junior year has been 91 in the first semester and this semester i plan to at least get a 93. And no i actually do want those classes. And i doubt i am going to take the sat again because i really suck at the sats. Like my math and writing may go up but reading is impossible for me. But thank you again for helping me. Is there something that I could do to really make myself stand out?

Erm, cure cancer? You’re in, just relax. I got into the Computer Science Honors program (a pretty big deal given the major), and I don’t even have half your extra-curriculars.

As for the SATs, if you don’t want to take them again then you’ll have to pray your AP Lit scores come in (in July) before your orientation date (when you set your classes), or else you’ll have to take WRT 101.

Unless you already took AP Composition and got a 3, then you’re fine.

Haha thank you! I know i may need to relax but I guess there is a lot of competition out there

If you went to my school, you wouldn’t think so.

Haha well there is a lot of competition to get into colleges so i am a little nervous

Don’t burn out and you’ll be fine. Work smart, not hard.

Thanks. If not stony, would anyone be able to suggest another good college that is either in long island or nyc. I plan to major in some kind of math like finance or accounting or practice. I am confused at the moment. And I don’t want to pay more than 5,000 per semester.

Practice law*
