Junior at a high school in California. I have a 4.0 GPA, about 4.2 weighted. 1920 on my SAT (most likely will take it again) and at least top 9 percent (probably higher) in my school.

Also, is it worth it to pay OOS tuition? I plan on going into communications/advertising and I've heard that UT is one of the best in that department.

Your chances are OK. Your SAT score could be a little higher if you have another chance to take it I’d try to get it into the 2000’s. Your ranking is on the low side. They accept around the top 7% now automactically in state and that fills up 75% of their student body. So work harder on getting that maybe into the top 5% for out of state.

Advertising is one of the best in the country (if not the best), so if you are dead-set on such a major then I would think that UT is a good choice, unless you have a similar top program in your state.

I’m also an OOS.

Now for bad news. 26 ACT. Still trying to improve.

Could I get into UT with these stats?

^It depends what your college you are applying to, but regardless you should get that ACT score up.

@UTStudent01 - I’m pretty sure I’m ranked #1 (as all students with 4.0s at my school are ranked #1 because my school does not weight grades). I only say top 9% because they just handed out a letter to those of whom were in the top 9%.
