I know my SAT score is really low. It actually upsets me to a point where I don't think I'll ever get in college. Can you guys please chance me and recommend me colleges? I'm not sure what I want to major in, but I want it to be science-related.

Thanks in advance!

You should apply to colleges that make the ACT/SAT optional! Your classes are challenging and your GPA is good.

That SAT will really hurt your chances at USC though. There’s a HUGE list of colleges, including some large state schools. There are some really solid programs, so definitely check it out!
Also, you don’t need classes to improve your SAT score. Look up the xiggy or ziggy method on CC. (I can’t remember what it’s called, but a LOT of people on this board swear by it and it’s free!)

Good luck! And remember, if you can’t get in the first time, do your best at a university you think you’ll be happy with, but if it doesn’t work out, you can always transfer. :)

Here’s the thread on the xiggi method:

Go to post 571 in this thread for the summarized version.

Also, take the ACT, many people do much better on one test than the other.

I know my SATs will hurt me at just about every college I apply
But I am retaking it and thank you for that list! I found a couple of colleges I’m considering.
Also, thank you for the Xiggi method link! I believe that will help me a lot. Thank you!

Also, I have taken the ACT. I’m just waiting on my scores. Hopefully it’s a good score!

Bump! I received my ACT score and it’s 23. Not the best, but better than my SAT.

^That’ll definitely help you. That’s about a 100 point difference. If you could get that up to a 24 or a 25, you’d probably have at least a decent 50/50 chance of getting in. :)

Thank you! I’m retaking it and definitely studying more! I’m hoping to get around the 30 area.
