Chance Me?

Hi everyone, I'm a rising senior this year and am interested in the following schools: Tufts, Brown, Boston College (legacy), NYU, UChicago, Northwestern, Georgetown, Swarthmore, Hopkins, Yale, etc.. I'm not finished all of my testing quite yet, but I plan on achieving decent scores by the time I submit my application. I'm thinking of applying ED to either Northwestern or Brown and possibly applying EA to UChicago.

So, presuming I end up with decent SAT I and II scores, do you think I have a chance at some of the schools I listed? Any feed back would be appreciated :) I'm interested in majoring in something relating to Biology (possibly something to do with music as well), and my essays will probably be the strongest part of my application. Teacher recs should be decent as well.

Hi there! I think that your SATs as they are right now are more than substantial enough to go to any of your schools, especially the ivies! Yale may find issue with the SAT, but I think it’s fine. Your SAT Subject Test score is just the bare minimum for ivies, but I think it will do! Your courseload is more than fine. I think that once your gpa is weighted it will be fantastic. I’m not sure if you’re aware or not, but colleges do receive and look at information of your high school before judging your grades. They’ll take into account the rigor of your courses. Your 3.99 unweighted in all honors/AP at private school will go much farther than a 3.99 at an easy school in regular classes. It’s about the entire package though, so make sure your essays are awesome! I think you’re doing fine!

Thank you! And yeah, I’m really going to work on my essays. I already started drafting some of the UChicago ones and am starting to work on my personal statement.
