I know it's doubtful but wanted to get feedback nonetheless

Actually, you may have a decent shot. MI is an under-represented state (we are from MI, and my daughter says there were few midwestern students compared to other areas of the country). It may depend on the school you attend … your GPA is low, but it might not be low for your school. Is it a top high school? Your counselor should provide an explanation of the GPA at your school, since they don’t rank. The fact that you started the orchestra outreach program is a good thing - something Vandy would like. It could go either way, but definitely give it a shot.

How is your math score on the ACT? That will be key for an engineer!

Math score is a 35; and my high school is pretty competitive. My GPA puts me in the top 15%.

It seems like you are competitive. As with any top school, there are never any guarantees. Just put together a good application, and then … wait! :)

Agree with Kelsmom, you are competitive, are you applying ED, if so I think you are in with 2300.
