Essays:
My personal statement I believe makes me unique, not in who I am, but in the story I tell. It's not something you see every day.

AP Enviro- 3
AP Calculus AB- 2
AP Calculus BC- 1
I know, AP Calculus was pretty terrible of a score.
The other three (AP Chemistry, AP U.S. Gov, and AP Stats) I am taking senior year. I didn’t really get the opportunity to take APs until Junior Year anyways.

Your AP Scores are virtually pointless in college admissions (at least for UW). If you were in-state, I would say you’re in. OOS is a bit more competitive, so if you can increase your SAT around 100 points just to be safe and make sure your essays are golden. Ask an english teacher, another college student, or even someone with some solid history in CC to check over it. Although I see no faults in your current stats, those advice are just to be on the safe side.

AP Calc BC is a 1? How did you pass the class and maintain a 3.8 cumulative GPA? Aside from that confusing detail I’d say you have a solid shot.

Thank everyone! at malc366, what do you think makes me a high match/low reach candidate? i’m not saying that you’re wrong or anything, i’m just curious. thanks :)

40% chance, I have connections inside the University of Washington saying this year’s OOS admission’s acceptance rate is going to be BRUTAL. I wish you the best of luck and hope you somehow get in!

I heard the same thing as UWHuskies12 with regard to the OOS acceptance rate being brutal this year. That is really unfortunate for you OOS applicants. I lucked out with applying to Boston College this year, they declined 26% in total applications because they added an essay. Serendipity at its finest.

I don’t know what you mean by “theory” exactly?

I heard it through the grapevine, so I can’t speak to the veracity of the claims other than the fact that I have heard the sentiment about the OOS acceptance rate being lower this year.
