sorry, never mind my use of the word “theory”.

i do not think it will be totally brutal, washington is still facing budget cuts and they wouldn’t it down from 50ish percent to 30 in a year, thats 100s of thousands of dollars lost, where will they get their $ to continue research and whatnot

Tuition money doesn’t go to research - otherwise every student’s tuition bill would be 10k a month.
It tends to cost more to have more students, despite the cost of tuition. That’s why it’s a state-subsidized public university. So the major impact of more students, is more university expenses, not less.

they still won’t knock it down more than 10%, right?

Most likely no (in regards to dropping 10% or more). Brutal or not, you’re really well qualified, and I think you have a good chance.

thanks, sorry if it seems like i freak out alot (i know i do, and i have probably drawn the ire of some on here). is it normal to have nightmares about being rejected (i am being totally serious)?

Haha of course it is normal.

If you’re having dreams (good or bad) about it though… you are probably thinking about it way too much. Try to worry about it less!

It’s out of your hands now. You have a great GPA/courseload and a solid SAT. Unless you totally blew off your essays, you’re in.
