<p>My GPA took somewhat of a nosedive Sophomore year due to my mother, father and grandmother undergoing serious surgery within a month span. My Junior year average was a 91.0 (3.6 GPA)</p>

<p>My short answer is about my computer science tutoring.</p>

<p>My personal essay is about my parents' separation and how I have learned to adapt and become more independent.</p>

<p>I almost never respond to chance threads but I can’t let a negative stand without saying something more positive. It’s somewhat of a reach and maybe UR would be tough for you, just looking at scores, but it’s not out of reach by any means.</p>

<p>All three SAT scores (M, W, CR) are within the middle 50% reported by UR on their Fast Facts page. Your GPA is solid and you’ve done cool things with your time. Don’t think for a minute you aren’t a viable candidate. If you like the school, make sure you visit and interview, and put time into a thoughtful application. As Creekland said, you won’t know if you don’t try.</p>
