Chance ME!

I'm a student from India and am hoping to pursue a career in Aerospace Engineering.
My scores:
SAT Math: 780, CR: 740, Writing: 700
SAT II MathL2: 790 and Physics: 800
My high school grades though are not that good...around 70%.
My ECs include Founder and President of school's Aerospace Club and VP of the school Quiz and Debate Club. School quiz team one of the most successful in the country. Participant in various National and International level Competitions.
I can get good LORs from my reachers at school.
Please chance me for GTech, UMich and Purdue. MIT and Stanford are dreams for everyone but what are my chances. And please suggest other good options too.
Thanks.

MIT and Stanford are out of the picture, and your HS average makes me question some of the other ones. You got 2220 on your SAT and you did well on your subject tests–what happened in high school?

What is your class rank? If your rank is high, the low grades might be neutralized to some extent.

Assuming you are ranked at least in the top 25%, GTech would be a match. Perdue and U of M are low reaches, and MIT and Stanford would be high reaches.

What about the University of Texas at Austin?

High School was a hit and a miss really. Was scoring at around 90% till the 10th grade, but then it just did not happen in the 11th and 12th grades. Variety of reasons, but the most pertinent being the style of teaching in the school’s science section, just did not gel with the entire situation (India is a VERY different place when it comes to school).
But i am hoping that my SAT II scores will sort of offset this situation i am in.

Even with great scores, your GPA/grades will truly hold you back. Stanford and MIT are, IMO, out of the picture. Unless you are ranked highly, don’t count on them. The other schools you listed will likely be the same, but you have better chances at them.

MIT - high reach
Stanford - high reach
GA Tech - match/high match
UM - high match/low reach (heavy emphasis on GPA)
Purdue - low match

Chance me back?
