<p>Basically, my freshman year GPA brings things down. I'm in the 4th decile in terms of ranking.</p>
<p>I think it’s worth a shot you have decent grades, but mediocre test scores, but good AP scores and solid courseload and just make sure to really show your passion for attending RPI if possible.</p>
<p>I don’t like participating in these, but I think the other forum participants are giving you false hope. 96% of freshmen last year scored >= 600 on their math SATs, and I’m assuming the remaining 4% either had high SAT IIs to make up for it, outstanding academic records, or some type of hook, none of which you claim to have.</p>
<p>If I had to guess, I’d say you’d have a one-half to two percent chance of being admitted.</p>
<p>Try looking at Clarkson University; great school with slightly lower expectations than RPI. I’m surprised how competitive RPI has become over the years; kids with 2100 SATs can get waitlisted or perhaps denied! Well, I guess it’s for prestige…idk…</p>
