Match due to GPA and extra-curriculars.

UMich does not superscore the SAT. It looks at your highest single sitting, so keep that in mind.

Match but not a slam dunk

Weak match

GPA is a tad low without any APs

SAT is decent but not great

Very strong ECs and work experience

OOS status

If you applied a few years ago, I’d give you a match, but Michigan has seen a pretty competitive pool in recent years.

Will my legacy help me then?

entenduintransit - Michigan does superscore the SAT now.

@bb62bb62 How do you know Michigan is superscoring the SAT? They haven’t in any previous years and the admissions website still says that they take the single highest score.

Copied directly from the Michigan admission website: “SAT and ACT scores also play a key role in how we evaluate your academic readiness for Michigan—we assess them in conjunction with your grades and curriculum, not as separate entities. We usually take the highest composite score into consideration, regardless of when you took the exams.”

Notice that they take the highest “composite” score - by any other name, that’s super scoring.

It is not super scoring. All the composite score is the reference in ACT to composite score that averages the components. For SAT, it is the sum of the components.

A boy in my graduating class applied to Michigan OOS and EA, he was rejected BUT was accepted to Cornell University which is obviously an Ivy League School. You will find out if you get in very shortly so good luck! AND GO BLUE
(Current Freshman at UMich)
