Hi! I am a caucasian student from Maryland who really likes this school. My credentials are something like...

I plan to apply early decision after sending in videos of my soccer playing.

-GPA: 3.8 Unweighted (Top 10% of Class)
-SAT/ACT: Haven't taken yet. Based on my practice scores, it is safe to assume a 1900 on the SAT and a 30 on the ACT, possibly more.
-Sports: Soccer (All 4 years of varsity, and I'm a D1 recruit. Also the captain of the team with two awards [Bob Marley award and MVP.] I also play travel soccer above my age level with 2 state league titles and top scorer.) Tennis (All 4 years of varsity.) Football (2 years of varsity kicker.)
Activities: FBLA member (hoping to make it to nationals in an Economics tournament,) and Student Government Association Member.
Other Achievements: Won a video contest by the Council for Economic Education. Competition was called "What Should The Next President Do To Improve The Economy?" I earned:
-National Recognition
-Letter from Senator Ben Cardin
-Letter from Senator Barbara Mikulski
-Letter from Governor Martin O' Malley
-$500 Stipend for my teacher (which will earn me a gleaming letter of recommendation from her.)
-Letter from my County's Board of Education

I plan to study Economics, but if I am not interested in that, maybe do something like Neuroscience.

What are my chances? I'm also applying to:

-Claremont McKenna College
-Williams College
-Colorado College
-Pitzer College
-Kenyon College
-Occidental College
-Chapman University
-Lawrence University
-Allegheny College
-St. Johns College

^^^ If you have any insight on my chances at those schools please let me know!

they’d be crazy if they didn’t take you lol, you’re in

But keep in mind they have D3 sports, so if you’re a D1 soccer player Chapman might not be the best for you. I also don’t think Neuroscience is their thing but yeah good luck! :)

With that SAT/ACT, your best bet is soccer–but serious recruits are usually tagged for ED…I’d get in touch ASAP and if you’re really a D1 recruit, that might be your in.

@skippymanie: Thanks for the input. I personally don’t think I’m D1 material, upper level D2 AT BEST. I know I would be an asset to a D3 team, so I’d like to play D3 and excel academically. Thanks again!

Dude you just posted about passion v. Test scores at cmc. People gave you pretty good advice there. Regardless though, I was accepted this year to cmc and I would say a reach. Not to diminish your credentials, but I know many valedictorians with perfect sats that did numerous ecs get rejected, even from ED. Therefore I truly think it’s a reach for anyone… Excuse the typos this is from my phone.

Are you a male junior? I can’t tell. If you’re a girl, the D1 soccer thing could really help you if they want you. It’s unique they have a d1 women’s soccer team for such a small school. I mean it looks like you will be competitive at all of these schools but it’s hard to say without test scores. If you’re a junior, I’d definitely recommend taking the ACT or SAT at least once junior year.

My guess about your chances: chance to good chance at all but Williams. I suspect your test scores, if as expected, will hurt you there. Very little chance at Williams.
