I'm a junior. I'll be taking the SAT on the 26th, and probably a couple subject tests later on.

White, female, first generation, live in Ohio

GPA: 3.984 UW
ACT: 33
PSAT: 227 (National Merit Semifinalist)
Class rank: top 3%
7 AP classes junior year
Probably a couple senior year + all dual enrollment classes, probably at Cleveland State

Other mediocre stuff:
Piano (8 years)
McDonald's job (started last June, will continue until college)
Volunteering at public library/founding book club at public library (5 years/2 years)
Chemical engineering mentorship (50 hours)
Science club (1 year)
Quiz bowl (1 year, voted onto team)
Published in Teen Ink, which I enjoyed, but it's not exactly the epitome/pinnacle/acme/zenith/height of literary magazines.

Hey now, 8 years of Piano certainly isn’t “mediocre” - in fact, they might be impressed by seeing how devoted you can be to an activity, how long you’ve been at it and how devoted you were to it. Still, your GPA and ACT is pretty solid, I don’t really see why you wouldn’t be a good match.

Even though you classify as an out-of-state student, your grades, course rigor, test scores and “mediocre stuff” should nearly guarantee you admission. You should have no troubles getting accepted.
