My weighted GPA is 3.74, SAT 1840, NHS, lots of EC

How many hours gimme ur ec’s how many reccomendations

I was varsity cheer captain jr sr year, student council officer, 140 plus hours community service national honor society

Youre a tad light on the ec’s

rank matters a lot imo, so if you’re in the top 10% that’s good.

This is just my opinion, but your GPA is a little low for weighted, your SAT is ok (could be better), community service is good, and ECs…I can’t say for sure, but it seems fine to me. Your curriculum is also a big factor. Did you take any AP or IB classes? How about dual enrollment/ AICE/ CLEP? I heard that UF is biased towards IB dipolma students, as far as acceptance goes, but AP students usually come in with more credits. My high school college counselor told me I was pretty much guaranteed acceptance because I was an IB diploma student, and I’m a Florida resident. Also, have you won any awards.

When I applied (fall of junior year), my credentials were like this:

-2060 SAT, 30 ACT
-3.7 GPA unweighted, 4.2 GPA weighted
-IB Diploma student - A’s & B’s in all classes throughout high school
-4 on AP World History exam
-member of 3 honor societies (NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, & SHH)
-Outstanding Scholar award for 3 years (for getting over 4.0 GPA weighted) & 2 National -Spanish Exam Premio de Bronce (for scoring in 75th-85th percentile)
-100+ hours community service
-I also believe I had a pretty good admission essay (considering I spent 3 hours writing it, getting it proofread, and rewriting it, nonstop)

However, I had my fair share of screw ups. 2nd semester of junior year, I got 6 B’s & 1 A. For both semesters of senior year, I got 4 B’s & 3 A’s. Also, I had no leadership positions, or work experience at all (I blatantly wrote “none” in those two boxes of the application), but still got in.

This is an old post, from right before decisions were released. She applied to a lot of the same schools as my daughter, so I can tell you she did not get into UF (She is also OOS, which probably hurt her). I think she’s going to UM for spring term. She got waitlisted there for fall.

Cool to be able to predict the “future” like that;)

I was in fact rejected to uf however I’m happy to say I am doing the um in DC for fall and attending um in spring
