Recommendations: Were pretty good I thought. Didn't see counselor rec but teacher rec talked about how I am very career oriented and passionate about what I want to do in life

Essays: Used lots of voice and showed character. Wrote about how my younger, but bigger brother started over me in bball and how it taught me the foundations of a successful team.

Wake Interviews: If anything, it helped me out. Got into a really nice conversation, and the man seemed genuinely interested in me... or I hope he did.

Wake Supplement Essays: Worked hard on them!

Okay I think that wraps it up! Thanks guys

Did u use test optional policy?

I would say that your record is pretty on point for many current students at Wake when they were in HS. Honestly, the only thing I can see that could be somewhat of a negative is your reading score on the SAT (it’s probably at the bottom 25 percentile, you can check the common data set that’s available online to make sure). Your math and writing scores will probably neither really assist you or hurt you.

The IB diploma and 15 IB course-load is definitely impressive. So are your school involvements and the internships (most HS students cannot boast internships before college).

What’s your HS ranking? And what’s the weighted GPA scale - some counties weighted scale is a 4.5 or 5.0 while I have heard others is even a 6.0. If it’s a 4.5/5.0 scale and you’re in the top 10% of your class, I’d say you have a good shot. Since becoming test-optional, the % of enrolled students being at the top 10% has skyrocketed to almost, if not already, 90% of the class. It was more like high 60ish or 70ish beforehand.

Thank you for your responses. The grading scale is a 4.5/5.0 scale. My school does not rank students, but I believe I am in the top 10% of my class (I am not sure if my school indicates this though). I also was just selected for an internship opportunity with the MLB (major league baseball). Do you think I should notify Wake of my recent accomplishment?

Thank you again for your assistance.
