Chance Me

Hope you guys can give me a good idea on my chances for ED 1

I go to a top 75 Maryland Public High School

-Male, Buddhist, Middle Eastern (ikr)
-3.714 Weighted GPA
-3.02 Unweighted GPA
Good upward trend
Without my freshman grades-2.7 UW (yikes) I would have a 3.2 UW 3.92W

Challenging courses, 3 aps so far ( Calc, Gov, Geo) and all but 6 electives honors

SAT

720 Math
670 Reading
690 Writing

(2080 combined, 1390 without writing) 95th percentile

Senior Course-load

AP Bio, Ap Psych, Ap Stat, Honors Anatomy, Honors English, Internship

Soccer at the top level for 5-6 years, going to their soccer camp this summer!
Over 300 hours of community service
Internship at Law Firm
Job as an accountant for a major car company
President of two clubs, one of which has almost 75 members, Involved in a few more
Tutor for a few months
I play in a band (Were almost good)
Fluent in 3 languages, took 8 years of Saturday school to master :/

My recs should be good, as well as my essay.
Going "balls to the wall" senior year, so my grades next year should be good and in difficult courses

Please be realistic, tell me exactly what you expect and why.
Thanks!

Above Average to High SAT
Challenging Courseload, Strong Senior Courseload
Sport, Community Service/Tutor, Job/Internship, Leadership in 2 clubs, Fluent in 3 languages

Fluency is 3 languages is REALLY unique and may overshadow your relatively low GPA. Consider writing your essay on your improvement from your low freshman GPA. Great SAT score and range of leadership positions in your extracurriculars.

It seems like your commitment to apply ED 1 to GW with your high SAT would secure being admitted.

You’re pretty much in unless you have a terrible personality and it shows through your essay/interview. But i’d say you’re in.

Thanks, any other ideas?

Not definitely in at all. A 3.07 or 3.2 are both far below the 25-75 data set. Take a chance but it’s a reach.

I would agree, but considering i had a rigorous course-load at a very competitive high school and a good SAT score I figured it would balance that out, no?

Bring that gpa up a little and you’ll be fine
